Meet a Project is an initiative from Meet a Mentor which has been set up to help developers get started in working on real world/open source projects. You can search through the available projects below and if you find one you like then we will introduce you to the project mentor who will give you more information about the project, help you get started and offer mentoring around your contributions.
Once you have found a project you would like to find out more about or get involved in just send Helen Lewis a direct message on the Meet a Mentor slack group (if you’re not a member you can join here). Helen will set up an introduction to the mentor associated with the project who will tell you more about it and answer any questions. If you want to get started with the project they will guide you through the next steps.

Any Meet a Mentor member can advertise a project they are involved in, whether an open source project or private project.
The only stipulation is that the mentor should be happy to:
– Answer questions from potential mentees
– Guide them through how to get started
– Offer mentoring around their contributions*
To get a project on there just speak to Barry Cranford on the Meet a Mentor Slack group
If you’re not a member you can join here.
*this does not have to be indepth and should be agreed with the mentee in the initial discussions
